Nick Cokas is the former husband of popular American songwriter, singer, and actor Katharine McPhee. His ex-wife Katharine is mostly known for her performance in the musical drama series Smash where the actress played the role of Karen Cartwright.

Besides being known as the ex-husband of Katharine, Cokas, though has mostly identified himself as a businessman and an entrepreneur, also has a few acting credits to his name. Nick is the youngest son of the late couple, James Cokas and Evangeline. Katharine’s ex-spouse, Nick has an older sister, Deborah Cody. Cokas’ mother, Evangeline died in May 2015, while the Californian lost his father a couple of years later. Nick often posts photos of his dad on his social media.

Talking more about his family, Nick has two ex-sons-in-law named Peisha Arten and Daniel McPhee. He also has a brother-in-law who goes by the name Adriana McPhee.

The now ex-couple, Nick and Katharine married in early 2008 and remained husband and wife for a total of eight years. As for their first meeting, they met each other in 2005. At the time, both Nick and Katharine were among the casts of the LA production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

Cokas and his then-girlfriend McPhee got engaged two years after their first meeting in Sep 2007. And the former couple married the following year in Feb 2008. Their wedding ceremony was held at the Presbyterian church in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. Among the wedding guests were Kellie Pickler and Mandisa. In fact, some 300 people attended the ceremony.

Nick and Cokas, who had an age gap of 19 years had the popular Grammy award winner David Foster as their wedding singer.

When Cokas and McPhee Separated? Their Divorce Settlement

After being together for several years, Nick and McPhee decided to end their relationship in May 2014. It was the latter who filed for the divorce although the two had been staying separately for more than a year before the news of their divorce came out.

Talking about their divorce settlement, Katharine had to pay her then-husband Nick $102,616 within a few days which she did. Aside from this, McPhee also had to pay $400,000 annually.

Nick’s ex-wife kept most of her assets including the 2013 Mercedes M Class SUV. Aside from her car, she also kept various bank accounts and insurance including certain TV and music rights.

McPhee also stressed that she didn’t regret her actions and added,

“I don’t have any regrets. All of the choices I made I learned from in a really deep way, I have always been fortunate to have strong influences in my life who have forced me to look at my own choices and my own failures. I think we are all on that journey to have more awareness about who we are as a person and to grow and learn.”

She further explained,

“I’m trying to date in a way that doesn’t lock me down, “There is still a certain level of attachment with the prior relationship that I was in, so emotionally to be suddenly dating other people is not as easy.”

Looks like Katharine also had her reason behind her action which most people thought was selfish.

As for now Cokas’ ex-wife, Katharine is married to Canadian music producer, David Walter Foster. McPhee and Foster wed in the year 2019 and now are parents to a son, Rennie.

Much like his former partner, McPhee, Cokas is also a married man. According to his Facebook, he is the husband of Roxane Hayward, a South African-born model, actress, and singer.
