Back in 2012, his band Rock-And-Roll Junkies, along with seven other local bands performed at the Grizzly Rock in Lakewood in order to raise the funds for Aurora theater shooting victims, which killed over 12 individuals.

Just for a fact, one of the friends of his wife, Rebecca Wingl also, unfortunately, became the victim of the tragic incident. Well, she was a single mom of two beautiful five and nine years old kids.

Talking to CBS Denver about the matter, Neil said,

“Every penny that we raise, everything that we make goes directly to the victims’ families and that’s the least that we could do.”

The event was named Rockfest for Aurora.
