Jeong was born on May 26, 2007, along with her fraternal twin sister Alexa Jeong. She was born to her father Ken Jeong and her mother Tran Ho in California, the United States.
Zooey is currently studying in a private school, that remains unnamed. As of 2022, she is 15 years old and is in her sophomore year. During an interview with Ellen in 2015, her father Ken mentioned that besides school, Zooey was doing children’s theater and swimming classes as well.

Zooey’s grandparents are both of Asian descent, so Zooey is of Asian heritage. Zooey’s paternal grandparents are South Korean whereas, on her mother’s side, her grandparents are of Vietnamese lineage.
How Did Zooey’s Parents Meet And How is Their Marriage Going?
Zooey’s parents Ken and Tran met each other while they were both practicing medicine at the same hospital in Los Angeles. They soon hit it off and after a few years, the couple got married in September of 2004, in a privately organized wedding.
They have been married for 18 years and are proud parents of two kids, however, the dynamic duo’s married life has not always been roses and sunshine. After the birth of their twin daughters, Zooey’s mother Tran was diagnosed with cancer which will be discussed below.

No matter how worse was the situation Ken and Tran have always been each other’s support. Ken supported his wife wholeheartedly through her fight with cancer and Tran encouraged her husband to follow his passion and go into comedy leaving behind his career as a doctor. All in all, Zooey Jeong’s parents are a very happy couple, they have an enviously good marriage and don’t look to be separating anytime soon.
Zooey’s Parents Are Both Doctors
Zooey’s parents Ken and Tran are both certified medical professionals. Her father Ken received his M.D. in 1995 from the UNC School of Medicine. Whereas, her mother Tran received her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Zooey’s father Ken Jeong was quite interested in comedy and did frequent stand-up comedy sessions, however, he always put education first and went on to get his degree and become a doctor in 1995.
But, later Zooey’s mother Tran encouraged Ken to chase his dream and leave his medical career behind. Furthermore, Tran motivated him and encouraged him to work even when she was battling breast cancer. Ken later accepted the role for The Hangover when his wife’s treatments were going on.

Unlike her sister Alexa who prefers staying outside the limelight, Zooey is much more interested in her father’s occupation and has appeared in multiple shows alongside her father Ken.
Zooey made her appearance on ‘Dr. Ken’ and ‘Laura Marano: Boombox’. She made her first appearance on TV as Emily, in her father’s show ‘Dr. Ken‘ in 2015. Emily is Dr. Ken’s neighbor who is obsessed with Dave (Dr.Ken’s son). In the show, we can see her knack for acting as Ken’s real-life daughter stalks Ken’s fictional son.

Further, she also made an appearance with her father in the music video for ‘Boombox‘. The father-daughter duo act as the director and assistant director in the music video starring singer Laura Marano. The music video, released in 2016, currently has over 67 million views on YouTube.
Zooey’s Mother Is A Cancer Survivor
Just one year after Tran and Ken welcomed their twin daughters, Tran was diagnosed with stage breast cancer and given a 23-percent chance of survival.
Tran, being the mother drew strength from within and fought strongly against the disease. Ken, who was initially shocked to hear the diagnosis realized he’d have to support his wife through her journey seeing his wife’s enthusiasm.

Finally, after her grueling treatments which included 16 chemotherapy sessions, and a mastectomy, followed by radiation, Tran Jeong became cancer-free. After the exhausting two years, in 2010 the family of four regained their happiness after Trans won against cancer.
How Ken Jeong Felt About The Cancer?
Zooey’s father later revealed that he was scared out of his mind after his wife was diagnosed with cancer. In 2011, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, Ken penned a lengthy blog in the Huffington Post, praising his wife’s courage to fight cancer.
Ken mentioned how he felt after he got the news,
We were both in shock, and I was angry. How could this be happening to her? How could this be happening to us now, at what should be the happiest time of our lives?
Ken further added he was worried despite his wife’s best efforts, cancer would be too much for her. And he was afraid to think about how could he lose his wife, his best friend, and the mother of his children that soon. On top of that, Ken was scared thinking about how would he explain this to his daughters.
Meanwhile, Ken also praised his wife for being so positive during her treatments. He said, in the two years she battled cancer, Tran never once let it take away from the moments she had with their girls.
Zooey’s parents said that it was their humor that got them through their tough time. They were just trying to find light in the darkness.
Zooey Jeong’s Father is a Rich Man
Zooey hasn’t yet started working professionally and doesn’t have any source of income. But, her parents earn well from their respective careers. Through his work as a doctor, a successful actor, and a comedian, Ken Jeong has amassed a net worth of more than $14 million. Tran surely has earned well from her career as well, however, her exact net worth is yet to be revealed.

Apart from that, Ken and Tran Jeong own a $3.95 million home in Calabasas, California which the couple bought in 2016. The pair along with their twin daughters Alexa and Zooey, currently reside in the 6,700-square feet luxury house located in the gated residents.

Zooey Jeong is active on Instagram and Twitter. Her father Ken mentioned in an interview with Ellen back in 2015 that both his daughters had blocked him on Instagram and muted him on Twitter. We don’t know much about her socials as she keeps them very private.
On the contrary, her father Ken is pretty active on social media. He has over 1 million followers on Twitter and 1.2 million followers on Instagram as of June 2022. Ken also has a Facebook page where he has amassed more than 900l followers.
